The Sourashtra Script is compared with Devanagari, Gujarati, Tamil and Telugu Script.
Please go through the charts given below.

Please note that the vowel markers are uniformly placed to the right side of the Sourashtra consonants, whereas this uniformity is absent in other scripts.

The special symbols are aspirated form of nha, mha, rha and lha which are not available in other languages.
One more special symbol is half-yakaram and nasal marker.

~= half yakaram avyaasaa~? = Have they come?
_=nasal marker uexB, z~bemv = yes, they (have) come.
This half yaram denotes the ‘aa’ sound in English words, mat, rat, cat etc.
Nasal marker is like in Hindi = जी हाँ ।

The present Sourashtra language is to be compared with old Sauraseni Prakrit.
Sri T.M.Ramarai says that the present Sourashtra Language spoken in South India is the offshoot of Sauraseni Prakrit.
